I found two interesting components when looking at your food journal. The first is the almost total absence of meat, save one turkey sausage. Whether or not this was intentional I think it is a positive trend in your eating habits. The abundance of meat in today's day and age causes people to over-consume it. You seem to balance your protein well with peanut butter and beans.
ReplyDeleteThe second trend I noticed was food as a means to express your emotions. Although not highly scientific I did read in Cosmopolitan the other day that women are more likely to eat in response to emotions because we feel like we don't have time to do other things to diffuse them (such as working out, talking with a friend, taking a nap, etc.). Eating is easily done while completing other tasks so we don't feel like we are procrastinating or being less productive.
i feel like i kind of eat from the extremes of the grocery store--the vast majority of my food is from the periphery of the market, as Pollan mentions, but then I eat things like "Smart Balance 37% light buttery spread" which is definitely not food. and surely that dannon light and fit, which is about 2/3 the calories of other brands of fat free yogurt, is cut with some crazy processed crap and not just water.
